The Great Pumpkin Patch

Off we go to the pumpkin patch. Mike and I love to do things associated with holidays and it is so much easier to "fit in" now that we have Ryan with us while doing them!! (now we have a legitimate excuse for being there!!)
We woke up this morning and headed out to breakfast and then up I-65 to Hayden - kind of in the middle of nowhere. We got there and set out for the hayride to go find some pumpkins. Ryan had so much fun checking everything out. He is such a people person. He screamed and squealed until he got them to look his way and then gave one of his famous grins!! He is just SO CUTE!!! Sometimes I can't believe how much personality he already exhibits!! We had a great time and picked out a VERY large pumpkin. It is such a blessing having Ryan. He really does make our lives so much more fulfilling. Saturdays take on a whole new meaning for us. It gives us something to look forward to. Introducing Ryan to new places, tastes, sights, etc. (the new taste this morning was some of my blueberry muffin - which he loved. Then again, what doesn't he love?!?!)

Check out our morning at the pumpkin patch caught on film!

Sick, Sick, Sick

Our Little One got his first ear infection this week. Definitely not a milestone I wanted to record...He woke up with a runny nose on Tuesday morning and it and he just got worse as the day progressed. I am so glad I took him to the doctor. My fear is that Ryan will get ear infections like I did. The kind that come every 2 weeks, the kind that the doctor kept thinking I would outgrow -- hello college and I was still getting ear infections. I pray that Ryan has this as an isolated incident and doesn't see ear infections very much in his future.
Here is a pic of my fussy, screaming little man. Doesn't help that he got stuck in one of my circle cutters for scrapbooking...hahaha

Lions, Tigers, and Bears...oh my!

Ya know, I wish we could say that on our outing Friday we saw these animals, but the Birmingham Zoo is a little lean on these. We did see birds, camels, giraffes, ostriches, flamingos, monkeys, hippos, and rhinos...

Beth and I took the boys to the zoo Friday because it was such a pretty day and both of our husbands were gone and we needed a break from the normal routine.

We had a really good time. Both boys stayed awake the whole time and we were able to walk and snap pictures without any meltdowns...YEA!!!!
Here is what we saw:

Beth and Jake

Always chewing on his favorite John Deere Keys

To the park we go

Alright, Beth and I tried something new today...let's put the boys in a double stroller and go to the park. Yea, not the best idea...one would cry and the other would catch on and soon we had wailing that the whole neighborhood could here. From here on, it is single strollers for us.
Though, they had a good time when we actually got to the park. So, all was well in the end.

36 weeks and counting

It is official -- Ryan LOVES the swings. Priscilla and I took him to the park while she was here and he loved it. He couldn't keep the grin off of his face!!

RB Train Park

Priscilla has seen almost all of our neighborhood except this last little park on the outskirts. So, Sunday after church we drive over and let Ryan play on the wooden trains. He had a lot of fun banging on the tables and then being the conductor. I can't believe how quickly time will pass and soon he will be up there driving all by himself!!
