I'm a Pirate

Well, not exactly a pirate, but a cute outfit that shows a pirate...that works!

Just wanted to put up a picture of this outfit. I thought it was cute and at the rate that Ryan is growing I will probably only be able to put it on him one more time - if I am lucky!!

Mike is in California -- travelling AGAIN!! So, I am in SC and having a good time. Saw a lot of high school girlfriends yesterday and we are supposed to be heading to the beach this morning when Ryan wakes up. So, hopefully I will post some pics of that when we get back.

Play Date #2

Well, I can't say that these 2 days after 6 month shots have been fun. Ryan was up all of Thursday night and was out of sorts all day Friday. He has been a little happier today, but definitely not 100%. Out of 14 hours, he only slept 1.5...he has definitely kept me on my toes today. We are heading to Columbia in the morning so that Mike can fly to California. So, I am really hoping that by tomorrow Ryan is "cured" of the 6 month shots and starts acting like himself again. I miss my happy, sleeping baby.

We had a play date Friday afternoon at Ginger's. I took Ryan even though he woke up early from a nap and was definitely in a little "mood". We were able to stay about 45 minutes before he revved up to another breakdown. Jake and Brantley were having a good time though. So, check them out.

Happy Birthday!!!!

Most everyone knows that I love birthdays...all birthdays and I love half birthdays...or, at least I did before they brought me 6 months closer to 30!!!

Anyway, this is one of the many "firsts" that Mike and I get to experience with Ryan...his 6 month birthday!!!

We have been having so much fun with Ryan lately. He has such a little personality and is constantly amazing us with his curiousity!!

Ryan has a few favorites now - he LOVES being outside -- at the pool/lake is his favorite, but really anywhere outside. He LOVES people...everywhere - the bank, the grocery, my work...but he has loved his latest play date most of all. He LOVES his Dog that he sleeps with and the doggy that he lives with -- though Riley isn't so sure of Ryan. He loves to lick his face, but isn't quite sure what to make of Ryan when he sees little hands reaching his way. Ryan LOVES to sit up and play with his toys. This is new starting this week, but he has been entertaining himself playing with his mat, books, squishy cubes, teething toys. It is AWESOME because it FINALLY gives me a little breathing room!! :)

Ryan really is such a joy and Mike and I say all the time how lucky we are to have such a happy, smiley, healthy, bouncy baby boy!!

Neighborhood Playtime

Our first official play date...the boys crack me up.

Beth, Ginger, and I all found out within a few weeks that we were pregnant, all live within 4 houses of eachother on the same side of the street, and all had our BOYS withing 4 weeks.

Jake is the oldest born January 4. Ryan is in the middle born on the 22. Brantley is the youngest born February 4, but he was 4 weeks early.

So, we have really had a hard time rearranging our schedules so that they all coincide for a chance to have a play date. We finally pulled it off last Thursday! It was a lot of fun. Jake showed off his new trick of this hilarious scoot, inch worm crawl...man can he GO!! He is so fast!!

Brantley watched things from his back and tried not to get "hit" by the "older" kids or licked by Riley - who was out in full force thinking everyone was there to see him.

Ryan just watched with a BIG GRIN on his face. He cracks me up how much he loves people. He just sat right in front of me, for the most part, and watched every little thing that was going on. The Mama's had a great time hanging out and catching up and the boys had a great time seeing other babies. They are at an easy stage now where 1 or 2 toys kept them mesmorized for the whole 1.5 hours!! I am betting that won't last forever.

We are off for another play date this Friday at Ginger's. Can't wait!!!

Ryan is getting to be such the little swimmer!! I am so glad that he likes the water. I don't know WHAT I would do with him if he didn't! :)

Our first time away

Mike and I finally had a break from our little man. We decided to head to Charleston for a little R&R on Wednesday. It was wonderful...we got to visit with MC & Billy and meet their new addition, Annie, we walked all around town, relaxed, met up with Brooks and Jamie at the Rooftop Bar, and had dinner at 82 Queen. What a perfect day and night!

Ryan stayed here at the all-inclusive hacienda, aka my parents house. My aunt Diane, and Cousin Suzanne came to help out since Mom is still not fully recovered from her surgery.

I have no doubt that Ryan had a wonderful time. There were outstanding reports every time we called to check in. He slept great, played great, strolled great, ate great, and NEVER cried! What more could I ask for? It is such a relief to go off and leave him and know that he is having such a good time that he doesn't even miss us. Thanks Diane and Suzanne for coming in to help out.

Happy July 4th!

We are in Columbia celebrating the 4th. We have had a lot of fun so far with the fireworks, seeing family, and just getting a little break from the constant demands of being parents. :)
