Has she really been here 9 weeks already??

I can't believe that we have had our precious little girl for 9 weeks already!! Time is FLYING by and it seems to get faster every minute!!
I took a picture similar to the one I took of Ryan when he was 9 weeks old. Funny how they look the same, but so different.
This week has been calm for the most part...nothing of real interest. Ryan is saying some very funny things lately. This morning he asked Mike, "Daddy, want some eggs?" Like he was going to get up and fix them. He loves to help us cook and always pulls up a chair to help pour or mix. He told me that he made me a cake yesterday while he was in the shower. (so cute)
Ryan has really gotten into singing lately and has started carrying around a bat that he sings a certain tune, a plastic report binder for another tune, and a little broom for still another song that he hums. Watching him play and come up with things is hysterical. He still doesn't like to go off and play by himself, but he gets very quiet when he thinks we don't notice and begins playing our our 'puters. He also LOVES screwdrivers. he finds one and will sneak off to "fix" something. (sneak because he knows we don't like him to have them by himself) We consistently find him trying to "fix" his train table with the screw driver and then we have to put all the tracks back together. He has also become really fond of his books lately. We spend a lot of "minutes" looking at books. He loves to say, "let's just sit a minute and read" whenever we have somewhere we need to be.
Life with a 2.5 yr old. It is so awesome because everything he says is funny, but it can certainly get the best of you when he decides to be his stubborn, testing, self. :)

Thank you Mimi and Doc for the Red Sox outfit...I am sure that we will get a lot of wear out of this!!
Diane, Francie, Suzanne...recognize this one? Having so much fun with the clothes you sent.

Something is in the water over here...

Here we have 3 two-and-a-half year olds (all born within 4 weeks)
and below we have 15 weeks, 8 weeks, and 5 weeks, respectively.

Something is definitely in the water...considering we all live next door to each other...crazy!!

Get ready, set,
JUMP!
Ryan and Jake - having a BLAST!!

8 weeks - July 26

Life has been a blur lately...guess that is why I have only put pictures up instead of writing anything of significance. Kaitlyn had her 8 week check up on Monday and weighed 11 lbs 12 oz and was 23 in long. I knew she was getting bigger, but the length really surprised me. That means 3.5 inches in 8 short weeks. Maybe she will be lucky and be taller than her Mama. (not that this would be difficult!!)
She ran a fever on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning and didn't sleep all that well. We played with neighbors and didn't do much else this week. We did have our first solo adventure to the pool on Thursday with Beth, Jake, and Walker next door. That was a lot of fun and, surprisingly, we were able to stay 2.5 hours. Both babies cooperated and the boys had a ball. They both have puddle jumpers and had no issues jumping in every where "all. by. my. self." (this is Ryan's new mantra)
Mike was out of town a bit so I did some days all. by. my. self. and I have to say that I definitely prefer to do this with a partner. Oh, and we sold my car and bought a new one. So excited about that. Mike has been scouring the ads online for WEEKS!!! Thank goodness that has been taken off of his list!!

Kait getting tickled and loving it!

don't have an official picture of the new car yet. hopefully soon!!

7 weeks

The activity mat

Ryan cracks me up with trying to "use" Kaitlyn's baby things....the bouncy, the swing, the car seat, and the activity mat. He keeps telling me that he is showing her how to do these things. Too funny.
So, here he is "showing" Kaitlyn how to use her activity mat. She is strong, but not quite as strong as Ryan was when he was half her age. She has really good control of her head, but he was able to completely lift his head off of the floor and look at the camera when he was 4 weeks old. She is around 7.5 weeks old in this picture.

Love the sunsuit from the Greens!!

Really loving some attention from Daddy

Kaitlyn is 6 weeks old!!!

Kaitlyn turned 6 weeks old on July 12. She has learned to smile and really seems to be very happy. Still not doing anything major with sleeping, but at least she seems to be content while awake.
