Getting Older...

I am 9 weeks old!!!!

Ryan had his first round of vaccinations yesterday. He did so good!! I think I had a much harder time getting over it then he did. It is so hard to see your baby stuck 4 times!

Ryan cried for less than a minute and was asleep in the car seat before we even left the exam room. Glad there were no lasting effects!! hahaha

Easter

The bunny outfit...gotta love it!
The bottom of it even has a tail. Mike was not impressed with this and would not let me take Ryan out of the house if he had the whole suit on. So, I had to be content with just wearing the top.

I also have some pictures of Ryan with the real live bunnies while in Columbia. How cute!

Pottery Time...Again

We had so much fun the first time that we decided to take Lisa & Julia to make footprint bunnies on Easter eggs.

Ahhh, Friends

Ryan and Brantley met up again today. This time not for dinner, but for some play time at the park. Brantley's parents (Ryan and Ginger) live 3 doors down. It is so convenient having so many new moms to spend time with.
Brantley is 6 weeks old. Ryan is 8 weeks old in this picture.

March 17, 2008

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Sunday at the Park

Ross Bridge has this great park in the center of the neighborhood. Mike and I decided to take advantage of the weather, and the fact that I can finally get out and about, and walk up to the park with Ryan and Riley. Riley loved every minute of it and I think Ryan did too. Check out those smiles!

Night out on the town

Well, not exactly out on the town, but our first night out in Birmingham. We went all the way over to Mountain Brook to visit with Lisa, Matt, and Baby Julia. Ryan and Julia are 9 days apart. We were hoping to have them on the same day, but no such luck. It is so much fun having them so close together and getting to go through all of their "firsts" at the same time.

Dinner with the Turners

Ryan had his first dinner party. Brantley is 2 weeks younger than Ryan and they have not been able to hang out in a while. So, Mike was out of town and I headed 3 houses down for a little company and a home-cooked meal. Gotta love it!

Riley Action

Riley was feeling a little left out. So, he needed to check out what this tummy time was all about. :)

Close up

Sweet Baby Boy...

Mommy's Little Monster

I think the shirt says it all!

Sip & See

Yes, that is what I said...Sip and See...Ryan of course. We went back to Columbia March 6 - 9 so that we could introduce Ryan to anyone who hadn't met him on our previous trip. Saturday morning was the Sip & See for Ryan and then a trip over to Regan's to meet the newest member of their family, Manning Caroline, born on leap day!!
It was so much fun to see all the girls and their mom's. It is so wild to think that all of these children are ours. :)

Regan, Manning is beautiful. You really know how to make them!

Shoes...gotta love them.

So, I just had to buy these shoes. Ryan doesn't really have any other shoes that he can wear right now, so I figured this was a good investment. Aren't they just so cute? And they match his Choo Choo outfit so well. It must be documented!

Getting in touch with my "artsy" side

We took Ryan to have his handprints turned into pottery. It was so much fun...for us. I don't think Ryan really likes having his hands dirty.

Just because I can...

February 28...I just like these pictures so I thought I would add them.

Tummy time and more playing

Ryan has finally gotten interested in his activity mat. It is so cute to watch him stare at everything above him. He swats at things and occasionally he hits it. :)
Tummy time is another treat we are just getting to experience. He is already so strong. I can't believe how much control he has over his head and neck. Our little boy is growing day by day.

Venturing out

We went on our first family walk today, March 2. It was so wonderful and peaceful to be outside enjoying the sunshine. Riley LOVED it and Ryan stayed pretty comfy in the stroller.

Acne...this isn't a prelude to adolescence, is it?

I am really hoping that even though he got baby acne it doesn't necessarily mean that his face will look like this when he turns 13...if so, poor baby! :)
Thank goodness this only lasted a week and now we have a beautiful, clear-skinned, portrait-ready baby with us again. (hahaha...he was cute either way though)

My week at home

Ryan is just turning 4 weeks old and I am at home in Columbia...
We had a pretty quiet week for the first few days. Then, things really started to pick up. Ryan got to meet his cousins, Bo & Betsy. Then we had his great-grandmother, Dot come to hold him for his nap. Regan and Hodges stopped by as well as Emily, Jennie, and her son, Ward. It was a busy week after all of that. We had a lot of fun and it was great getting to introduce him to everyone!

The Flip

I know, I know, I know...how could you put your baby on his stomach. Well, let me just tell you...if you experience a "week #3" like I did, you will do ANYTHING to see your child asleep. I tried it all...rocking, the swing, the bouncy seat, and then family came to visit and gave me a new suggestion. If you have an upset stomach do you want to be all stretched out on your back? NO...so, here we go...the Flip!
And, WAH LAH...my baby is sound asleep. I had to take a picture since in week #3, this was a RARE occurrence!!!

Thank goodness for Family

Ryan had a rough week 3. He went through a growth spurt...or what I think was one...and he was eating EVERY 2 hours. He was really fussy and I learned that he CANNOT tolerate onions. I mean, I can't even have the food I eat tough onions or he will go CRAZY. Thank goodness Diane, Francie, and Suzanne showed up. They literally saved the day since I was thinking of jumping off a cliff. hahaha.
They picked Ryan up at 4:30pm Friday afternoon when they got here and took care of him until we all left at 12:30pm Sunday afternoon. They did such a good job with him that I decided to ride home with them for a surprise week in Columbia. Mike was going to be traveling and instead of his parents coming to Alabama the following weekend, Mike just came to Columbia to take us back home and celebrate his birthday. It really worked out well. I had a chance to catch up on some sleep and get recharged as well as introduce him to some more family. Thank you SO MUCH Diane, Francie, and Suzanne!! I couldn't have gotten through that weekend without you!!!
