The pool, the pool

We went to the pool for the first time today. We had almost as much fun getting Ryan ready for the pool as we had actually being there. It is so much fun to dress him...I know, I am crazy!

Anyway, he looked like such a big boy with his new swimming trunks and t-shirt. Also, the hat and flip flops are priceless! I love them - thanks Kris!!!

Ryan is the happiest little baby - most days....we had a few unhappy moments this week. He caught a little cold on Wednesday and has been stuffy ever since. Hopefully he will start to get over that soon. We went to the doctor for our 4 month check up on Thursday. Ryan is still in the 98% range at 17.5 pounds and 26" long. He is getting SO BIG!!!

After the 4 shots he started running a fever and kept it throughout most of Friday. Though even with the fever he wasn't really fussy. I was impressed.

Anyway, just had to include this pic of Ryan and Mike. So cute!!

17 weeks and getting so big

Ryan is 17 weeks old today!! I can't believe how fast the time is going. He goes for his 4 month check up on Thursday and gets more of the dreaded shots. We have taken quite a few pictures this past week because Ryan is hitting all of his major milestones!!

He is sleeping through the night again. He had about a 10 day stretch where he was waking up between 3-5am to eat. Now he is waking up between 6 and 7am. Not too bad. He rolled over for the first time last week - at 16 weeks exactly. He also has the smallest little tooth emerging very slowly. Guess all of this drooling actually has a reason behind it. :)

Baby Ben has arrived!!

We welcome another nephew into the family!!

Ben was born April 30 and joins big brother Bo and big sister Betsy.

Just for Dad...

Mike is traveling a lot these days. For the last month or more he has been gone for at least 3 days of every week. So, I like to keep him updated daily on what we do. This was the big treat yesterday...

Ryan - I caught it, I finally caught this purply rattle thing!!! YEA!!!

I know, it is the really small stuff that matters these days!

The pictures are a little slow this week because Ryan has been sick. He caught a cold and cough. I took him to the doctor and they said that I could give him so Dimetap. So, we have been using the purple stuff and at least he is able to sleep through the coughing now.

Expressions

Some days the expressions he makes just really crack me up. Last week was a whole week of days like that. :)

Shy and my new toy

Mike says that this is a perfect example of why Ryan should be embarrassed. He was not fond of the outfit that I dressed Ryan in. I thought it was cute. I mean, the blue socks are a little out there, but overall it isn't that bad!



Ryan's new toy....a burp cloth. Sometimes this is the only way I can get him to quit fussing while I am fixing supper. So, it has become a favorite. I gave him a blanket that Caroline Hoppe gave us today. Maybe I can redirect the fondness toward the soft, cuddly animal head blanket. We shall see how it goes.
