Kaitlyn's Nursery
This time around I decided that I would sew all of the nursery things. I don't know How to sew, but I thought what a great time to learn...well, I can't believe it, but I did it.
I sewed her bumper, her crib skirt, the bed skirt, the pillows and the curtains. Not too shabby for someone who barely knew how to thread the machine at first. :)
We did a lot of Etsy shopping and I had a blast. I love the way it turned out. Now it is time to redo Ryan's room!!
Mom's Birthday
Mom got to spend her birthday here with us...I am sure she loved being overtired and staying up half the night for her birthday...oh well. She said that it was ok. :)
We ordered out for Ruth Chris and Mike and Dad went to pick it up.
We did a little cupcake for Ryan to participate and finally we did her gift.
We all went in together this year to give her something really special...A New WATCH!!
She loved it.
The B's - we are sorry y'all couldn't be here too. It would have been fun to celebrate the occasion all together. Hopefully we can get home soon to do that. Just know - she loved it!! Thanks for your help in picking out just the right one.
Getting ready to open her gift
woo hoo -- beautiful watch
Make a wish
Thank you Green family for the Edible Arrangement...you know I LOVE this thing!!!
Kaitlyn loved it too...it was Monstrous! (or maybe she is just really teeny tiny)
We are home
Posing with Kaitlyn as soon as we got home from the hospital - she is 3 days old.
The nurses were so sweet. Once Ryan saw that me, Daddy, and Kaitlyn all had bracelets, he needed one too. So, a nice nurse went and made him one. He still had it on when we came home.
Ryan trying to "rock" Baby Kait
So sweet
We got home just as Gigi and Pop were returning from the pool with Ryan. (so excuse his attire)
Ryan ran right up to Kaitlyn and wanted to rock her in her seat and try to get the buckle undone. We had to explain that her seat did not need to rock all the way back and forth, but we had a hard time convincing him of that. He was adamant that he hold Baby Kait and so loving with her. Again, so far, so good.
Meet Dr. Christine
the next day
Gotta Love how much I SWELL. Talk about elephant in the room...literally!! hahaha
Anyway, the second day after surgery was good. I was up and walking, took a shower, had some visitors, and had Ryan come by. He was just as interested in Baby Kait as he was the day before...which was AWESOME. I felt good, but my swelling (that I thought wouldn't occur with Kaitlyn because it wasn't so bad while pregnant) came on with a vengeance. Have you ever met anyone that came home from the hospital and gained 5 lbs? Well, now you have. That is right...had a 7lb baby and came home weighing an extra 5 lbs. How does THAT work out? Unfortunate to be sure...so, excuse the pictures of the EXTRA LARGE me. I can't even believe I am putting them on here really...what am I thinking?
Ryan meets Kaitlyn (or baby Kait)

Kaitlyn
Pop
One more of big brother Ryan -- I just can't resist his cuteness!!! Hahaha
Mike brought Ryan up to meet Kaitlyn after his nap on Memorial Day. Ryan was so excited to get in there and see her. He asked Mike to hold him up close to look at her and then he climbed into bed with me. Very sweet and concerned about all of my boo boos and wires. hahaha
Anyway, Ryan looked adorable in one of his Big Brother shirts and wanted to hold Kait Kait after we finished feeding him while sitting next to me.
It was a very sweet experience and I am glad that Ryan did so well while meeting his Little Sister for the first time.

Kaitlyn is here, Kaitlyn is here
Well, making her debut on the blog is....Kaitlyn Anne Madden!!!
She was born on May 31, 2010 at 8:55 am weighing 7lb 4oz and measuring 19.5 in. She weighed 1 more ounce than her big brother and was 1 inch shorter. She has a head FULL of hair -- black hair. Crazy!! I guess not too crazy though since I was born with black hair also. I just didn't expect it. She is sleeping well and eating well (though not gaining weight as fast as big brother -- thank goodness because he doubled his birth weight in his first 8 WEEKS!!) Hopefully I won't have another little bruiser on my hands and can actually carry this child around for a while! :)
Kaitlyn is sleeping about 18-20 hours right now and unfortunately (for us) those 4 hours of being awake are from 9pm-1am. Oh well, I have to say, the rest of the day with her is pretty easy compared to having Ryan at this same age who was only sleeping about 12 hours a day...I would have been so SPOILED if this was my first child!!
Chuck E Cheese!!!
Priscilla was here and we decided to do something different -- head to Chuck E Cheese. Ryan had so much fun going from place to place and playing all the games. He kept asking Mike for his "money" ie tokens. The only real issue was when "Mr. Cheese" made his debut. Ryan was NOT a big fan of Mr. Cheese. He kept saying, "Mr. Cheese go away, go away". Of course, by the time we got home, Ryan was big friends with Mr. Cheese and saying he couldn't wait to see him again. He talked about him the whole next day too. So funny.
Here are a few pics of the games, etc that he played while we were there.
